Cyclops’ Business Unit Turnaround Management (or BU TAR, for short) specializes in the coordination of the lengthy preparation and fast-tracked execution phase of a turnaround. More importantly, the business unit focuses on making sure that the next turnaround can benefit from the lessons learned of the previous one.
There are basic principles that should be applied to effectively prepare and execute turnarounds, but the method of application differs from company to company. Cyclops is in a unique position: not only to bring in the experience of managing industrial investment projects, but also to gather and consolidate different best practices and methods and share the expertise and knowledge.
We want to ensure that the most appropriate people, framework, processes, and software are invested to ensure a high probability of successful turnaround. To make this happen, a motivated construction supervisor is a must.
This is why we are currently looking for a (freelance) WORK PREPARATOR, to support
our business unit TAR.
About the job:
As a work preparator you are be involved in the calculating, supporting and preparing and follow-up of work packages to be executed during a turnaround.
You are responsible to create work packages with which the contractors can get started.
You will be making cost price calculations.
You reserve and prefabricate the right materials and spares.
You specify the tools needed to perform the job.
As a work preparator you will also make a basic work schedule by estimating the correct amount of hours of work for every task to complete the work package. This will later serve as a basis for the overall planning.
When your support is extended to follow-up of the execution during the turnaround, you will issue the necessary work permits and perform quality reviews on the work done by contractors.
What we need:
You have a bachelors’ degree in Engineering or equivalent.
As a work preparator you can translate the demands of the client into practical and realisable work packages.
You have either or both experience in preparing mechanical work packages (piping, static and dynamic equipment) or EIA (electrical, instrumentation and automation).
You are an excellent problem solver and are able to work and thrive in a hectic environment.
Thanks to your outstanding communication skills, you succeed in aligning with colleagues, other work preparators, the project manager, …
You have at least two years of experience as a work preparator in turnarounds.
As a work preparator, you have a proactive make-it-happen’ mentality.
You are resistant to stress and pressure.
You are absolutely dedicated to your work, which you execute with extreme precision and an eye for detail.
You are flexible to travel within Belgium.
Your software skills include Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
You speak Dutch, English and French fluently.
